Late for school

Tideswell was home to many evacuees in the Second World War and we have collected quite a few stories so far.  It wasn’t always easy for the evacuees or the locals to adapt.  But Harold Walton was no stranger to Tideswell when he arrived as a refugee, he had relatives in the village, however his first day at school didn’t go quite according to plan  . . .
