Founder members 2012

This is the team who started the project in 2012:

Audrey Hopkins: Chairman of Tideswell Living History Group. 
Audrey has lived in Tideswell since 1940. She is married to Brian,
owner of M.Markovitz, which was founded c1900.  She is a founder member and past President of Tideswell and District Community Association and Chair of Afternoon Tea Club. She is Branch Leader of Mothers’ Union and very involved with the Parish Church.

Mary Landon
Mary is Tidza born & bred, her Great Grandfather established
“F. Chapman & Sons” Printers & Newsagents in 1897. Mary was involved with the recent self-guided Tideswell Trails project, which then gave rise to the Tideswell Living History Group. She has great affection for Tideswell and all its history.

Gillian Adams: Secretary to the Tideswell Living History Group.
Gillian has a vast knowledge of the history of the village and can trace back her family four generations to her great, great, grandfathers Butchers Shop.
A lifelong resident of over 50 years, she is an active member of the community  and works as an office administrator for the local Company ‘Holdsworths’.

Judy Cooke: Coordinator of TLHG ’s work with Tideswell and Litton Schools and the group’s librarian.
Judy, a retired Infants’ Teacher, settled in Tideswell 11 years ago,
but has lived in this area since 1969. She is an active member of Tideswell and District Community Association, running the 200 Club and also works in local primary schools with the Education Officer of the Tideswell School of Food. 

Paul Harrison: Treasurer and also leads on photographic research and cataloguing for the project.
Paul is also treasurer of the Visit Tideswell Group and was part of the steering group on the Big Lottery Village SOS Taste Tideswell project. His backgound is in entertainment retail and wholesale. 

Henry Douglass: Producing and editing the audio recordings.
Has experience of planning, editing, producing and presenting
corporate events, training materials and community radio programmes. He is a member of the Oral History Society.  He moved to Tideswell recently and loves the village.

Elaine Chapman
Elaine a member of the Tideswell Local History Club.

Bill Bevan: Project Officer.
Bill is no stranger to Tideswell, he managed the self-guided trail
project on behalf of the Visit Tideswell Group from July 2010 to March 2011. Bill also edited the audio trails. He knows the history of Tideswell very well and is someone we trust and know from the self-guided trail project. He helped us to deliver that project on time and on budget. Bill is an archaeologist and heritage interpreter who worked for the Peak District National Park Authority for 16 years. He is a specialist heritage interpreter and will work with us on a freelance basis to guide our project work. He will also manage other specialists in graphic design, multimedia editing and printing. Bill is a Trustee of the Association for Heritage Interpretation and a member of the Oral History Society.
